Sideways” explores the hidden face of Los Angeles: its network of alleys cutting through the city. Built to ward off intrusions and unwanted gazes, they display a patchwork of accumulated barriers — chain-link fences, metal sheets, wooden palissades, brick walls. The same security logic repeated neighborhood after neighborhood. It is this topography that is reassembled into collages, to reveal its visual essence.
